Who we are
ProperCanny is a trading name of Jack Collicott, a sole trader in the United Kingdom. For anything to do with your data, email hello@propercanny.co.uk.
This website
propercanny.co.uk is a static site. It sets no cookies and shows no advertising. Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes standard request data (including IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site; we don't use it to identify visitors.
Visitor counting
No visitor-counting or analytics script runs on this site at the moment. If we switch one on it will be GoatCounter, a cookie-free service hosted in the EU, and this page will say so and offer an opt-out.
When you email us
We keep your email and our reply for as long as we need to deal with your question and for a reasonable period afterwards, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you and keeping a record of what we said. We don't add you to any mailing list.
When you buy something
Purchases happen on Etsy, which is a separate data controller: Etsy takes payment and shows us your name, delivery address, the items bought and any messages or personalisation details you send. We pass the delivery address and the design to the print partner that makes and posts your order, and we keep the order record for as long as tax rules require. Etsy's own privacy policy explains what it does with your data.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to our use of it. Email us and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
